In today's meeting of the joint board of the Transport Association Region Ingolstadt, the implementations of the regional collaborative tariff for the entire region 10 has been unanimously approved. The joint board consists of the counties Eichstätt, Neuburg-Schrobenhausen, and Pfaffenhofen, as well as the City of Ingolstadt, which had already decided unanimously about these resolutions beforehand in their committees.

Chairman of the association and head mayor Dr. Christian Lösel: „After years of negotiations, today we could agree on a path leading regional collaborative tariff - in the future, our citizens can use the entire transport area with only one ticket for all trains and buses. I want to thank especially my colleagues, county commissioners Anton Knapp, Roland Weigert, and Martin Wolf, for their excellent and trusting cooperation to strengthen the public transport in our region."

The regional collaborative tariff will be introduced in the four regional authorities on the basis of a generally valid municipal statute, called "general rule". The general rule still has to be approved by the government of Upper Bavaria but should only be subject to technical and juristical votes, valid from 09/01/2017. The administrative office of the joint board of the Transport Association Region Ingolstadt will be practiced from the INVG in close collaboration with the counties. Branch manager Dr. Robert Frank thinks that today's taken decision is a good base to continue the proven partnership among public transport and regional authorities, trains, municipal and private transport companies, and in terms of passengers.

With the expected opening of the new train stop Brunnen of the Paartalbahn between Schrobenhausen and Ingolstadt in 2018, a further strategic improvement of the public transportation will be reached, followed by the implementation of the train stop Ingolstadt Audi in the end of 2019. The joint board of the Transport Association Region Ingolstadt will also use the digitalization for efficient and attractive public transportation in the region 10. An integrated and connected offer from bus and train in the entire region will improve the quality of public transport for passengers enormously and thus opens up new vistas of mobility.
