Moderate and Social Compatible Fares

Moderate and Social Compatible Fares

INVG-Board of Directors Votes for a Moderate Increase of Tariffs from September 1st, 2016

The new tariffs, valid from September 1st, 2016, follow recommendations of the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) as also of executive directors of major German transport associations. With the increase of tariffs, by on average 1,7 %, the INVG lies significanlty below the German Federal increase of fares of public transport businesses. In addition, fares of the rail transport have to be taken into account. The INVG is committed to compensate tariff differences due to the contractual agreement with railway companies. However, the previous tariff structure has been revised thoroughly so that taxpayers do not have to compensate for a higher deficit of the INVG.

The increase of tariffs includes an explicit social component. We excluded important groups of passengers from fare increases. Tariffs for children, students, and permanent users, such as consumers of job-tickets, remain under previous conditions.

Tickets of the previous tariff loose their validity on September 30th, 2016. In the customer center, Mauthstraße 4, these tickets can be exchanged against crediting of the remaining value or if desired, the remaining value can be reimbursed.
